Now that it is just a memory, let’s not hide our head in the nearest puddle.  Look ahead at the years to come and try to take steps to avoid what we just went through.  This is not just about your personal safety, but it also involves your property and its future as well.  How will it look in the years to come?  Ask yourself…have I taken steps to protect my property in succeeding years?

How is the drainage system around my yard?  Have I replaced trees and shrubs?  Did I repair and prune damaged foliage?  What about any fencing or structures that were downed by the flooding?  It is time to “lick our wounds” and remember what happened to get us there and do what is necessary to avoid it from happening again.
